This is for the U.S poster for THIS GUN FOR HIRE. This 1941 Paramount Pictures release is a highly sought after title. This is the U.S. Original release theatrical poster for the 1941 film. This is a rare, highly collectible poster but while the majority of the main artwork on this poster is still in decent shape, there is a significant amount of damage to the poster. This poster in Excellent condition has sold for as high as nearly 50,000.00 dollars at past auctions, so this could be a nice poster to have restored for the interested collector. Check out the images to see the extent of the damage, which includes: aging and discoloration tears and rough edges, missing areas of artwork (primarily on the lower credits and title). There is something incredibly well work, authentic and classic film noir about this poster but I'm not going to lie, it is in pretty bad shape. The poster is also mounted on a foam core backing. We are offerring this at an obviouslyy greatly reduced starting bid for anyone that might have an interest in adding it to their collection to restore. This Gun for Hire is a 1942 American film noir crime film directed by Frank Tuttle and starring Veronica Lake, Robert Preston, Laird Cregar, and Alan Ladd. It is a film noir based on the 1936 novel (published in America with the same title, and in Britain with the title (A Gun for Sale) by Graham Greene. Lake and Preston were given above-the-title star billing, with Ladd given an "and introducing" credit. Although Ladd only received fourth billing, the film made him a star, due to fan reaction and critical praise. The film features Yvonne de Carlo in an early role. She has one line, "Cigarette, sir?", in the Neptune Club scene. (Wikipedia) For more info on the film: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_Gun_for_Hire
