Currency:USD Category:Collectibles / Militaria Start Price:75.00 USD Estimated At:150.00 - 200.00 USD
THEODORE ROOSEVELT, JR.
(1887-1944) American general and son of the president, served with distinction in World Wars I & II, died leading his men ashore at Utah Beach and awarded the Medal of Honor. Good content T.L.S. on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., Oyster Bay, Nov. 8, 1924. Just days after losing his bid to become the next Governor of New York, Roosevelt writes a supporter: "...We have fought a clean hard fight, with every ounce of strength we had...the Senate and Assembly are Republican. What is more important is, Coolidge is elected. They may have knocked us down, but we are not out...". Fine. What few know is that Republican T.R. was knocked-out by concerted, vicious attacks by his cousin F.D.R. and wife Eleanor, pitting the families against each other.

Estimate: $150 - 200.
