THEODORE ROOSEVELT: (1845 - 1937) Secretary of State in Theodore Roosevelt's cabinet, awarded the 1912 Nobel Peace Prize for his mediation in European and Latin American disputes. Manuscript D.S. 1p. folio, "The White House", January 22, 1907 appointing Assistant Secretary of the Treasury James B. Reynolds to perform the duties of the Secretary of the Treasury during the absence of Treasury Secretary Leslie M. Shaw. Matted and framed with a nice 9 1/2" x 12" silver print photograph bearing a bust portrait of Roosevelt. Document bears moderate even toning, light feathering to first few lines of text, signature a tad light. Photograph bears some silvering with a couple of light spots. Both pieces in very good condition. Not examined out of frame. $800-1,200
