(THE SEX PISTOLS)
British rock band who invented Punk Rock, their career was short, troubled, and violently brilliant. A fine and rare D.S. signed by all four original members, 2pp. 4to., Burbank, Oct. 10, 1977. Eighteen days before the release of their groundbreaking album ""Never Mind the Bullocks, Here's the Sex Pistols"", the band signs a copy of a recording agreement with Warner Bros. Records for the funds for the production of their avant-garde film ""The Great Rock n' Roll Swindle"", directed by legendary B-movie director Russ Meyer. In part: ""...You are we agree to further modify the Recording Agreement...as follows...you may be required to guarantee Russ Meyer the first Seventy-seven Thousand Dollars...[and] If at the time of the delivery to us of the second, third and fourth albums...to be recorded...we have received less than One hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars...we shall have the right to deduct from the advances otherwise payable to you for said second, third and fourth albums..."". Signed at the conclusion by JOHN LYDON, JOHN BEVERLY (Sid Vicious), STEVEN JONES and PAUL COOK. In fine condition. Sex Pistols members signatures are rare in any form from this most tumultuous period of their careers, and Beverly's particularly rare as he died of a drug overdose just a year and a half after this agreement.
