A Robert Thorn stunt fighting mask from Richard Donner's horror The Omen. After discovering the 666 birthmark on Damien's (Harvey Spencer Stephens) scalp, Robert Thorn (Gregory Peck) was violently attacked by Damien's nanny, Mrs. Baylock (Billie Whitelaw). Thorn eventually overpowered her and stabbed her in the neck with a kitchen knife. Stunt doubles for Gregory Peck and Billie Whitelaw wore lifelike masks for the action shots of the two struggling in the bedroom and kitchen during their fight sequence. This lot originates from the collection of the production's chief makeup artist Stuart Freeborn.

Made from a lifecast of Peck's face, the foam-latex mask features a pair of eye holes, a slightly opened mouth, and eyebrows and sideburns consisting of brown synthetic hair adhered to strips of skin-tone-matching mesh. Multiple muslin-like fabric ties are attached around the mask's outer edge. Some of the strips have hardened over time and the fabric on the bottom-right side is damaged. The mask displays signs of natural aging and production use, including paint wear, minor discolouration and missing strands of hair. Small cracks have formed on the foam latex over time, notably on the right side of the nose. The lot is presented on a vacuum-formed plastic face display. It remains in a fragile state and should be handled with care. Dimensions (displayed): 17 cm x 14 cm x 28 cm (6 3/4" x 5 1/2" x 11")
