Title Lobby Card (11" x 14")

Metro-Goldwyn, 1924

Two pampered aristocrats are marooned on a deserted ocean liner in this renowned silent film comedy, co-directed by Donald Crisp and Buster Keaton. The rare title lobby card displays a subtle hint of color on Keaton's cheeks, and the film's title and border mimic the appearance of rope, enhancing the nautical motif. The piece is unrestored, exhibiting a faint dust shadow on the lower margin, three chips along the borders, and minor edge wear.

Buster Keaton once again demonstrates his mastery of slapstick comedy in this timeless gem. In the movie, Keaton plays Rollo, a character stranded on an ocean liner adrift in the Pacific with his girlfriend. The actual ship used for this film was previously an army transport vessel that was used in the Spanish-American war and the First World War, and Keaton purchased it for scrap. This six-reel film was Keaton's highest-grossing work, and he himself considered it his best film.
