The Hudson River Portfolio contains twenty aquatints views of the Hudson River Valley engraved by John Hill after paintings by William G. Wall. Published by Henry I. Megarey, New York. The Hudson River runs 315 miles from the Adiriondack Mountains to New York City. The views start near Lake Luzerne and end with a view of New York City from Governor's Island. The original proposal was for twenty four(24) prints; however only twenty were ever published between 1821-1825. This particular one is #10 which is the scene of Fort Edward. Fort Edward is situated on the east bank of the Hudson, two miles south of Sandy Hill, and about eleven miles north of Fort Miller Bridge. After much investigation--This is not a Original BUT restrikes from about 40-50 years ago. Originals are worth about $6000-$8,000.
