THE DIARIES OF WILLIAM A. FULLER
The Chicago building boom at the turn of the century

WILLIAM ALDEN FULLER (b. 1836) Chicago merchant and banker; a principal of Palmer, Fuller & Co., a major producer of construction materials founded in 1866 which, by 1880, employed more than 500 workers. Fuller also dabbled in real estate investments and other commodities. An interesting lot of 33 small date books kept by Fuller from 1876-1910, the heyday of his corporation's success. Mainly leather-bound and measuring approx. 3" x 6", each diary contains numerous daily and weekly entries detailing Fuller's business dealings, real estate holdings, personal appointments and general musings.
