THE BLACK CAMEL

Title Lobby Card and Scene Card (11" x 14")
Very Fine-
Fox, 1931

This appealing title and scene card originates from an early Charlie Chan film. The title card remains unrestored, displaying minimal foxing and toning at the edges and a small nick on the border. The scene card, also unrestored, showcases an impressive depiction of Bela Lugosi threatening Sally Eilers. It shows signs of wear with corner chips, creases, a tear along the border, a faint diagonal crease across Lugosi's chin extending into the background, and slight foxing around the borders. These cards are indispensable for any earnest collector of memorabilia related to Earl Derr Biggers' celebrated detective.

This film, adapted from one of Earl Derr Biggers' original novels, is often regarded as one of the finest early Charlie Chan movies. "The Black Camel," starring Warner Oland in his second appearance as the renowned detective, centers around the investigation of a movie star's murder in Honolulu.
