Our consignor's grandfather was union projectionist at the Tivoli Theater in Downers Grove, Illinois and these 8 photographs were given to him in the same condition received as when the film was first released there.

This rare group of 8 10" x 14" oversized double-weight black-and-white photographs depict behind-the-scenes images including the director's shooting barge; Katharine Hepburn eating canned peaches; director John Huston in posing in his boxer shorts; and beautiful Lauren Bacall hanging her laundry out to dry. Three of the photographs have a paper snipe affixed to the verso.

John Huston's 1914-set adventure film not only provided a zesty double act in Humphrey Bogart (as salty mechanic Charlie) and Katharine Hepburn (as stuffy missionary Rose), but it also earned Bogart his only Best Actor Oscar.
