Ink on paper, hanging scroll, featuring crow on tree, signed and after Tang Yin (Chinese, 1470-1524), inscribed with 1 artist seal, with 5 collectors' seals, 122.5 x 33 cm, Tang Yin was a Chinese scholar, painter, calligrapher, and poet of the Ming dynasty period whose life story has become a part of popular lore. Even though he was born during the Ming dynasty, many of his paintings, especially those of people, were illustrated with elements from Pre-Tang to Song dynasty art. PROVENANCE: Atef Elshikh He was ambassador in China 1975-1977. Then ambassador in Austria and then Italy. Died in September 1984.
