T6 $50 1861. This scarce note has the folds of a Very Fine, yet the right edge has three missing notches and several other small edge tears are noticed. The far right quarter panel also shows aging while the green overprint remains dark. These were printed by the Southern Bank Note Company. These engraved notes (and T5s) were ordered in May 1861 through the ABNCo branch in New Orleans. The parent company had issued orders not to aid the South, therefore managing partner Samuel Schmidt came up with the Southern Bank Note Company name. Needless to say not very many people were fooled.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
