English aviation pioneer (1888-1989), he created The Sopwith Aviation Company which produced more than 18,000 aircraft for the British during WWI, including 5,747 of the Sopwith Camel single-seater fighters. Glossy 6.5 x 8.5 photo of a diagram of the Sopwith Camel F. I. Single-Seat Biplane, signed in blue felt tip, “T. O. M. Sopwith.” In fine condition, with light spotting to emulsion and mild irregular ink adhesion to the signature.
