Systeme E. Turbiaux Le Protector 7mm SN 886
Scarce French made palm squeeze double action turret revolver chambered for a rimmed European 7mm centerfire cartridge. This unique firearm design was originally patented & produced in France by Jacques Edmond Turbiaux, soon after Peter H. Finnegan bought the patent and mass-produced the revolver in America under Chicago Fire Arms Company. Features a nickel plated finish, 1 5/8" part octagon barrel, 7 round disc cylinder, sliding safety, and smooth black hard rubber side plates. The metal side plate discs are marked "SYSTEME E. TURBIAUX * LE PROTECTOR *" & "THE PROTECTOR PAT. MCH. 6.83. AUG. 29.93." Observed numbers: "2704" on the finger rest to the right of the barrel, "886" on the inside of the frame, "886" on the cylinder & "886" on the sideplate. Revolver exhibits approximately 60% of it's original nickel plated finish showing scattered losses with a dark grey patina formed in the void. Action is sound, the bore is very good+, markings are clear and the hard rubber sideplates are near good with a crack & small loss on the right panel. Condition is near NRA Fine. ***Antique Firearm***
