This is an example of a DWM Model 1900 Swiss military contract Luger of which an estimated 3,000 military contract pistols were produced in the 2,000-5,000 serial number range. These pistols have the early Luger features of the dished toggles with toggle lock, flat/recessed breech bolt, no stock lug, grip safety, flat mainsprings, and fast taper barrel that is 4 3/4 inches long. This pistol has the standard "Swiss Cross in Sunburst" over the chamber, and "DWM" scroll on the front toggle. The left side of the barrel extension has the standard Swiss Military Cross and Swiss control proof. Original fixed blade front sight and original "V" notch rear sight with the small Swiss Cross in front of the rear sight. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips stamped with the partial serial number (24) stamped on the back of each grip. This Luger comes with one original unmarked Swiss, nickel plated wood bottom magazine and is complete with an early 1900 style Swiss military style leather holster and shoulder strap. The holster is stamped on the lower inside of the flap with the small Swiss/Cross acceptance proof and the back side is marked "HANS XXHTER/ALCHENFLUH/09".
