This is an early, DWM Model 1900 Swiss commercial contract Luger of which an estimated 2,000 pistols were ever produced. These were the first true Luger contract pistols issued by the Swiss government. These pistols have the early features of dished toggles with toggle lock, flat/recessed breech bolt, no stock lug, grip safety, flat mainsprings, and fast taper barrel that is 4 3/4 inches long. This pistol has the standard "Swiss Cross in Sunburst" over the chamber, and "DWM" scroll on the front toggle. Standard Swiss Cross and Swiss control proof on the barrel extension. Original fixed blade front sight and original "V" notch rear sight with the small Swiss Cross in front of the rear sight. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips stamped with the partial serial number (74) stamped on the back of each grip. This Luger comes with one original Swiss, nickel plated wood bottom magazine and is complete with an early 1900 style Swiss commercial/military style leather holster and shoulder strap that is marked on the back of the holster "L.G. WAGXXX/ 00". The top of the holster has an old ink, previous owners name and unit information of "F. NUSSBRUMER/AEGERISAUMWEG 2/ZUG/ PIST. No.3474. This holster is accompanied by the original shoulder straps and pull strap on the rear of the luger pistol.

Very fine as Swiss arsenal refurbished with 95% of the blue finish overall with minor edge and high spot wear. The smaller parts retain 80% of their straw colors. The grips are also in very fine condition with nice distinct checkering overall showing only a few minor handling marks. The holster is in very good condition showing much surfaces scratches and handling marks from field use, but it retains good tight stitching overall. The markings noted above are clear and readable.
