Swiss Model 1889 Schmidt Rubin Straight Pull Rifle, #109865, 7.5x53.5mm cal., 30.7"barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock and handguard, dovetailed blade front sight, and adjustable quadrant rear sight graduated to 2000 meters. Includes a black leather sling dated 1898, in good used condition. Top of the receiver ring is stamped "P/25/(Swiss cross)". Right side of the buttstock is stamped with a Swiss cross inside shield symbol. Most smaller parts are also stamped with a Swiss cross symbol. Matching numbers. No visible import marks. Condition overall is very good+, retaining approx. 85% factory blue. Showing thinning and brown toning to the muzzle, rear sight, and buttplate. There is an area of patina to the rear bolt assembly and the safety ring has toned darker. Wood is in very good condition with scattered handling marks, impressions, and a few bruises. There are two holes drilled through the forend that have been filled with brown wood putty. The initials "F.S" have been neatly carved into the left side finger groove. Action and magazine cutoff operate smoothly. Bright bore rates excellent with well defined rifling. Est.: $500-$700. (C&R)
