Used by the Swiss military from 1882 to as late as 1950. The hardwood grooved grips on this revolver indicate that it was a later production model while the earlier guns will be seen with checkered hard rubber grips. There is a lanyard ring at the bottom of the pistol grip, which is slotted for a stock. It features a blade front sight and notched rear sight, fluted cylinder and mechanical rod ejection. All serial numbers match. Straw colored hammer, trigger, loading gate and ejector rod retainer. Swiss cross is marked on the left side of hammer and rear left barrel flat and various Swiss proofmarks appear on the left side of frame forward of the cylinder.
BBL: 4 1/2 inch octagon
Stock:
Gauge: 7.5 Swiss
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 35851
Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 90% plus original blue finish with muzzle and high edge wear, and thinning on the cylinder and butt cap. Most of the straw color remains on the hammer, trigger and loading gate. The grips are very good retaining most of the original finish and showing some scattered minor dents and dings. Markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
