Swiss Model 1851 Feldstutzer Percussion Military Sharpshooter Rifle, NVSN, 11.5mm, key-retained 33" twist-pattern round barrel has dovetailed front blade and tall long-range rear sights, 3" tubular bayonet mount at right muzzle, circular bolster flash guard, "(crown)/B", "(crown)/O" and "(crown)/TR" proofs, fine floral engraving and what may be 2 silver bands at the 6" octagonal breech section (top tang with 2 threaded holes for missing peep sight); flat lockplate has matching engraving, "Paul A Vevey" under military hammer; steel fittings comprise heavy trigger guard with spur and rear sling swivel, Swiss buttplate having removable 4.5" threaded rod with acorn finial at top, 17" pipe/nosecap retaining the button-tip ramrod. Double set triggers. Fullstock of varnished walnut has deluxe grain, high comb, German-silver oval and shield (missing) inset at left apron, midpoint sling swivel. Condition is good, the barrel showing good twist pattern, traces of case colors to lock, else clean smooth metal with sharp edges, engraving and markings. Stock is sound showing age and use marks, 1" repair at bottom left, wear to much original finish. Action is crisp, triggers work as designed, bore shows etching in grooves, fine rifling.
