This is an excellent example of an early production Swiss 1906/24 military Luger pistol that was produced at the Swiss factory in Bern Switzerland. There were approximately 17,000 of this model ever produced, all being made after WWI when DWM could no longer manufacture or supply Lugers under foreign contracts. The top of the chamber is blank and the top of the front toggle is marked with the "Swiss Cross over WAFFENFABRIK/BERN". The barrel extension, barrel frame and breechblock all have the small Swiss Geneva Cross firing proof, while the left side of the barrel extension has the small "+/M" Swiss acceptance proof. The serial number is marked on the front of the frame and underside of the barrel. The extractor is blue and marked "GELADEN" (loaded) on the left side. The grips are unique in that they are checkered with smooth borders on the front and rear edges. It has a single original Swiss nickel plated magazine with the correct walnut base. This pistol is complete with an original Swiss military holster that is marked on the back "JAK. MULLER/BERN/19", with the upper right side ink marked with a soldiers name and rank. Inside the upper flap of the holster is a small "Swiss Cross/Sch" acceptance stamp.
