Included in this lot we have a photograph of the Sweet Pea Carnival on main street in Bozeman, MT and originates from between 1880 to 1910. The Sweet Pea Carnival is the precursor to the Sweet Pea Festival and was held for a period of roughly thirty years from 1880 to the 1910's. This black and white photograph shows a crowd gathered watching a parade of horse drawn coaches and figures on horse back move down Main street in what is now downtown Bozeman. The street is decorated with banners, flags, and awnings from store fronts. The piece is marked "Main Street, During Sweet Pea Carnival. Bozeman, Mont." across the top and "Phillips & Willson Publishers.". The photograph is set into a custom dark wood frame with a dark maroon border around the photo. The piece shows good condition overall with some light wear across the frame. The frame measures 20" wide by 16" tall with the photo measuring 11 1/4" wide by 7 3/4" tall.
