Swedish Model 1851 Navy Kammarladdningsgevar Breechloading Rifle, #376, 14.8mm percussion, 28'' barrel, finished in the white, original cheekpiece European birch stock. This Swedish version of the 1842 Norwegian Kammarladder was produced for the Swedish Navy in 1851 and it is characterized by two brass bands securing the barrel to the stock, a ring on the hammer for cocking, and a caliber of 14.8mm. Although appearing quite similar to the Norwegian two-banded short rifle, the special features, especially the caliber and ring hammer, and the fact that it appears unissued, are all characteristics of the 1851 Swedish Navy variation. Although one of the more modern Swedish service rifles of the time, the Model 1851 does not appear to have been issued for service. All visible matching numbers including stock. Stock is additionally dated 1854. Condition is about fine. Internally shows little to no use; externally shows light scuffs, scratches, and mellow age toning. B!
rass bands show light to just moderate patina. Stock with no evidence of sanding and all markings are clear. Action functions as designed, bore is as new. Est.: $1,000-$1,500.
