Uncommon ALS signed “Svetlana Peters,” one page, 7.25 x 10.25, October 19, 1972. Letter to journalist and Meet the Press founder Lawrence Spivak, in part: "You certainly overestimate my knowledge about different TV programs; I never watch TV, to tell you the truth. So I'm the last person to say anything valuable about it's quality. My own experience with your program was—as you remember—not very happy one; I expect a talk about the book, which was just out at Harper & Row. But instead the talk was about some rather abstract matters. Anyway—this is between us two. I believe others were more lucky than I was. I hope your celebrations will be pleasant ones. Thank you for remembering me. With all the best wishes to you, to Mrs. Spivak and to your programs." In fine condition. She had appeared on a historic 1969 episode of Meet the Press, two years after defecting to the US. In her interview, she strongly condemned her father’s policies and pleaded for the Soviet Union to abandon Communism.
