Suspicion (RKO, 1941). Lobby Cards (2) (11" X 14"). Unbelievably, of all of the great actresses in the many demanding roles in an Alfred Hitchcock film, only Joan Fontaine won an Academy Award for this film. Without the histrionics of many Hitchcock heroines, Fontaine conveyed quiet suspicion (hence, the title) that her husband was trying to kill her. Cary Grant's charm alternates between endearing and nefarious, but his magnetism never wavers. The lobby cards, from the original 1941 release, burst with the yellow and red warning lights of traffic signals. One card has an abrasion in the image area and staple holes in the borders, but both cards otherwise show minimal wear. Very Fine-.
