Suspicion (RKO, 1941). Lobby Card (11 X 14 ). Charming Suspicion (RKO, 1941).
Suspicion (RKO, 1941). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). Charming Cary Grant (which seems redundant) courts wealthy and sheltered Joan Fontaine (again, redundant). Fontaine receives warning that Grant may be a gold-digger, but Fontaine marries him anyway. She remains loyal, even as her husband makes one sketchy business decision after another, but eventually, and not unreasonably, Fontaine concludes that Grant intends to kill her for her inheritance. When Grant's affable business partner Nigel Bruce dies under mysterious circumstances, Fontaine's fears are aroused. This lobby card depicts the famous scene that makes a glass of milk a source of danger, and to that end, Alfred Hitchcock had a light hidden in the glass to make it appear more sinister. The card has some very minor fading as evidenced by the red credit block at the top of the card as well as a crease mark in the image. There are slightly rounded corners and dirt smudges in the borders. However, the card will no doubt be among the most highly sought by Hitchcock collectors. Very Good/Fine.
