Suspicion (RKO, 1941). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). Alfred Hitchcock and Cary Grant enjoyed a fruitful collaboration, which began in this, their first film together. They would go on to make some of their best films together -- "Notorious," "Spellbound," "North by Northwest" -- and Hitchcock even entertained the idea of Grant playing Hamlet in a modern interpretation of Shakespeare's play. In this lobby card, also featuring co-stars Joan Fontaine and Nigel Bruce, Grant flashes his most mischievous eyes, a facial expression perfected by Grant in his Howard Hawks films. The card has several pinholes, even a few in the image area, as well as dirt smudges in the borders. Pieces from this suspense classic are hard to find, so as with all Hitchcock art, this card should be in high demand. Fine+.
