Vintage glossy 8 x 10 Warner Bros. and Vitaphone publicity photo, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, with best wishes, Susan Hayward /39.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of August 2, 1939, the date the signature was acquired. In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creases, surface marks, and impressions, some to facial area. An early and particularly attractive pose, signed on the day of her first major role. Saul Goodman Collection. Geste was Hayward’s break-out role after playing bit parts at the beginning of her career.
