Business check for the National-American Woman Suffrage Association, 6 x 2.75, filled out in another hand and signed by Anthony (as president) and fellow suffragist Alice Stone Blackwell (as recording secretary), payable to Chas. Mann for $7.25, March 21, 1899, for “2000 letterheads.” Check is also signed at the beginning by treasurer Harriet Taylor Upton. In very good condition, with two vertical folds, one through a single letter of signature, vertical tear to top edge, slight thinning of paper to top left, small ink notation to top right, and a thin strip of toning along top. An uncommon format for the most famous woman in the suffragette movement.
