A 15cm brass "Key to the City", presented in 1971 by the Town of Surfside, Florida, to Canadian Ambassador Marcel Cadieux. Back engraved "Salute to Canada Week, March 1971", together with "In Appreciation of your Visit / Marvin Weinstein / Mayor". A former Professor of International Law at the University of Ottawa, Cadieux was the first Canadian to sit on the United Nations International Law Commision. He was appointed at Canadian Ambassador to the United States by Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. Housed in Trabert & Hoeffer Jewels box - the first "Key" we have handled in many years of dealing, and a great conversation piece!
