Four items: a one page TLS, signed “Charles E. Hughes,” dated July 3, 1922, written to United States diplomats. In part: “At the insistence of the Honorable Calvin Coolidge, Vice-President of the United States, I take pleasure in introducing to you Professor Arthur John Hopkins of Amherst, Massachusetts.”; a one-page TLS from 1974 signed by Arthur J. Goldberg; a one-page TLS from Warren Burger to Bob Mueller, signed “Warren,” on Supreme Court letterhead, dated 1991; and a hardcover copy of A Child of Fortune, signed and inscribed on the inside front cover, “For Bob Mueller, with warm memories of the Van Buren days. Warren E. Burger.” In very good to fine condition, with a PSA/DNA authentication label affixed to reverse of Hughes letter, some scattered creases, and wear and tear to book’s dustjacket. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from PSA/DNA (Hughes). Bob Mueller, whom the Burger letter and book are inscribed to, is the current director of the FBI.
