ALS signed “M. R. Waite,” one page, 8.5 x 11.75, December 25, 1867. Waite writes Joseph Thompson concerning the purchase of an overcoat and business suit. In part: “I prefer the over coat made as a sack and it may be for color dark blue or black. The business suit I want of such material that it will be of use and be worn generally.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, scattered creasing and soiling, clipped corners, and old tape repairs on reverse to splits along folds.
