Brandeis was known for his devotion to free speech and was called “The People’s Attorney.” ALS, one page, 4.5 x 6.75, embossed Supreme Court of the United States letterhead. In full: “Let me thank you for the birthday wishes. I hope we shall see—and hear—from you in our court.” In fine condition, with a uniform shade of toning. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in his hand.
