ALS, one page both sides, 6 x 7, Isle-Au-Haut, Maine letterhead, August 20 [1925]. Stone writes author and historian Mark Sullivan concerning a box of cigars. In part: “The box of cigars arrived in good order and I find them very satisfactory. I appreciate your kindness in sending them but when I inquired for the address I never intended to impose on you to the intent of your finding the article itself. So I would be glad indeed if you would send me the bill. I hope that you are having a pleasant summer and that Washington is not as hot as it was last year.” In fine condition, with horizontal fold, a few light creases, and light uniform toning. Accompanied by a photocopy of Sullivan’s initial letter to Stone discussing the package.
