TLS signed “Felix Frankfurter,” one page, 5.75 x 9, Supreme Court of the United States letterhead, June 11, 1940. The associate justice writes Professor J. Raymond Walsh, economist, and radio news commentator, concerning William A. Eddy, president of Hobart College. In full: “You are very kind to send me the copies of the Hobart statement which bears re-reading very well indeed. Of course any such collective statement is bound to be expressive of the collective judgment. But I do believe that President Eddy’s effort is a notable document.” In fine condition, with light creasing, a strip of toning at the bottom edge, and slight mirroring of Frankfurter’s signature.
