If you wish to obtain additional information on a particular lot, ScreenUsed may provide, upon request, a more detailed description than what appears in the catalog. We remind the prospective buyers that these are rare collector pieces, and all sales are final.
(Warner Bros.) This chest emblem was created during pre-production of Superman Lives, the title of a Superman film which was never filmed. It was in production until it was scrapped, along with several other Superman movie ideas on a seemingly endless Superman movie project, which eventually became "Superman Returns". The emblem is made in two layers of molded rubber that features the iconic red "S" over a dark yellow backing for wear by Nicolas Cage in a screen test and feature the projected look of the new Superman suit. A very rare artifact from the doomed production. The emblem remains in very good condition and measures 12" x 8". We have placed it on a (typically thin or skinny) mannequin so that you can see the size of the piece.

There were several different types of suits tested with Nicolas Cage, in particular many silver and black suits for the "regeneration" scene, some with lighting built in. This emblem would have been for the main suit used outside of the short regeneration scenes. There is a new documentary that recently came out that uncovers the amazing and sad story of how this production was progressing and finally ended. Below is the information to the documentary, and we highly recommend purchasing it:
