This catalog presents numismatic material solely from Latin America with the Paul Karon Collection of remarkable and choice 8 escudos and other Latin American and Spanish colonial gold and silver coins. It is a scarce catalog and considred one of the prime auction references for Latin American 8 escudo coinage with each lot given a full page write-up; color plated throughout, PRL, Gengerke 109[621].

Artifacts included with the catalog are: 1) a mailed manilla envelope from Freeman Craig, Jr. to Holland Wallace sent first class postmarked August 11, 1992 which contains a working copy of the lot write-ups for the Paul Karon collection as cataloged by Freeman Craig, Jr. for Holland Wallace's expert advise and editing considerations. The envelope includes: Section I, Lots 1 through 200 with lot number, coin, date, assayer, and reference number, dated 6/23/92, 8 pgs; Section I Lots 1 through 100 non-inclusive with obverse and reverse legends, dated 6/28/92, 4 pgs; Section III Lots 101 to 128 inclusive, dated 7/5/92, 28 pgs; Section IV & V Lots 152 to 200 inclusive, dated 7/5/92, 39 pgs; 4 small pages of handwritten notes concerning several lots; 2) A manilla folder titled 'Karon Auction Dummy', an editor's rough proof of the complete catalog for final content and photo edits.
