Superb quality Russian flintlock pistol circa about 1800 to 1815 remaining in fine to near excellent original condition with beautifully cast and chased and fire gilted gold over brass mounts. The lock is ornately engraved and the barrel shows an etched Damascus pattern. The pistol is fitted with a deluxe checkered burl wood stock. The side plate shows a double headed eagle and the mounts show Tula style flowers and other identifiable Russian characteristics. The pistol measures 12” overall with 6 ½” barrel and approximately .54 caliber micro-grooved rifling. The condition is superb showing just some slight dried oil on the lock plate and original bright polished finish with virtually no wear. The stock is crisp and also near excellent showing just slight handling and minor aging. The lock is in its original flintlock configuration with all proper small parts, screws and etc. The quality of the gun would rival that of the best French workshops in the Napoleonic era.
