Superb early Merwin & Hulbert .44 M&H caliber single-action revolver, nickel plated, pearl-inlaid mottled red gutta-percha grips in ultra rare original velvet lined French style rosewood case. Serial #92. The revolver remains in near mint original condition with 98% plus original soft satin nickel finish, only slight index line between cylinder stop and minimal normal aging with no polishing or cleaning whatsoever. The hammer shows 60-70% original case hardening. Small parts and trigger show most of their original finish. The markings are sharp and crisp. The action is tight and locks like a bank vault. The interior shows little to no almost no use.The grips are fine to excellent and show a period monogrammed inlay at left panel and the initials “A.F.” The pistol shows early scoop flutes and hammer profile and all correct early features including locking pinon barrel release latch. The original to the period case is of the most deluxe quality showing purplish velveteen lined interior. Form-fitted in the French style with hard wood cartridge block. The exterior of the
