Highly detailed hand woven Persian Lillian Rug. Made of fine quality lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation, all natural vegetable dye, incorporating a highly detailed floral pattern on a rich red background; large teardrop centerpiece medallion; crowned corners and finished off beautifully with an intricate floral border. Hand woven in City of Lillian from Iran. About the history of Lillian: It's a village located south of Sultan-Abad, began in the 17th century, when a large group of Armenians settled here. Lillian Rugs, therefore, are made by the descendants of these Armenian refugees. These Rugs are very rare and hand woven by local masters. Size: 5 feet X 7 feet 3 inches.
