Sunset Club Cigar Label- Rockefeller, Carnegie
Sunset Club Cigar Label. A lithographed and embossed 10" x 6.5" inner label picturing a group of very famous and important gentlemen sitting around a table sharing a cigar (Sunset Club of course) and champagne while the sun sets over the water in the background. What a group this is- the richest men in America circa the 1890s: George Pullman, the developer of the Pullman railroad sleeper car; Levi Leiter, a Chicago businessman and co-founder of Marshall Field and Company; Lyman J. Gage, financier and secretary of the treasury under McKinley and Roosevelt; Philip Danforth Armour, founder of the slaughterhouse and meatpacking business carrying his family name; John D. Rockefeller, famous industrialist and philanthropist and founder of the Standard Oil Company; Andrew Carnegie, philanthropist and founder of the Carnegie Steel Company. There's no evidence that these men ever gathered at one table to smoke a Sunset Club, but can you imagine the conversation if they had! Near mint condition. This label is listed as one of the "InStone 100" blue chip cigar labels.

Shipping: Small Flat (view shipping information)
