Sunnyside (Pathe, R-1923). Three Sheet (41" X 81"). Although the film was originally released by First National in 1919, Pathe acquired the rights to many of Charlie Chaplin's pictures and began reissuing them in the early 1920s. This three sheet is spectacular in that it captures Chaplin as he was best known, as the Little Tramp. The borders have had some airbrush work as have the white portions of the lettering in Chaplin's name. There were minor repairs and color touch-ups. The white and blue background around Chaplin has had some airbrushing as well. Overall, the restoration is first rate and the poster is very presentable. If you are looking for one of the best images of perhaps the most famous film performer of the twentieth century, this magnificent poster would have to be it.
