July 9th, 1876 includes an article about "Our Western War" discussing General Custer and General Terry's official report. These rare, preserved Sunday newspapers are covered in a folio and show sign of age throughout yet still hold many readable records and articles from the late 1800's. Philadelphia was a major city in the U.S and The Centennial International Exhibition of 1876, the first official World's Fair to be held in the United States, was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from May 10 to November 10, 1876, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia. These newspapers show the Sunday page from May 14, 1876 to May 13, 1877. These measure approximately 24" x 32" folded.
