Anonymous Hudki Gold Pagoda, 3.36g, Obv: A dome-like symbol with Persian word 'Ali', possibly suggesting Ali Adil Shah I or II. Rev: A boat-like uncertain symbol with a cross added on the base (G&G# BJ45). About extremely fine, extremely rare.
The addition of the cross on the symbol on the reverse makes this coin unique and enigmatic. It has recently been shown that these so-called ‘Hudki’ pagodas were also called ‘Thipki’ and others, including the Marathas and the Dutch struck their own versions. Perhaps, the cross suggests such a connection.
