<B>Suffrage Spinner or Whirl-a-Gig</B></I> One of the ways in which the suffrage movement was promoted both here and in England was through the distribution of suffrage toys, including dolls, jack-in-the-boxes, board games, card games, and spinners or whirl-a-gigs. There are three to four different examples of the latter. To our minds, the one pictured above with two rings, is the finest. It has never been auctioned before. One ring in white contains the message “Votes for Women.” The other ring, in yellow, suggests perhaps that this item may have been associated, in one fashion or another, with the Woman’s Suffrage Party of New York.
