Stunning early United States Property-marked Colt Model 1911 U.S. Army semi-auto pistol, .45 cal., 5” barrel, blue finish, checkered wood grips, two-tone magazine with lanyard ring in base, #6332 in excellent condition showing approx. 96%original high polish blue finish with the majority of loss confined to the backstrap below the grip safety, sharp markings, crisp action, fine bore and fine grips; accompanied by a reproduction Kraft-style cardboard box with cleaning rod,brush, 20 cartridge box of pistol ball cartridges by Western Cartridge Co. and a wood block wrapped in paper to simulate an extra magazine. This first year of production (1912) Model 1911 is one of the best conditioned examples this cataloger hasseen in a number of years and is definitely suitable for any serious private or institutional collection of U.S. military firearms.
