Stunning Olsen-Nolte Saddle
Brown, floral carved and sterling silver, mounted Olsen Nolte, San Francisco 1930s-1940s parade saddle with matching bridle and breast collar, plus both tapaderos and stirrups. The seat has an original seat plate in sterling with the saddlery name engraved out. The saddle has a 15” seat and 3” high cantle and is adorned with lavish heavy gauge sterling silver corners, diamonds and half-diamonds plus a silver cantle with wide, twisted, sterling rope edge, mounted with gold initials “WFS” and surrounded by raised 5-point stars. The impressive breast collar is mounted with engraved square conchos in varying sizes, plus a central figural raised gold let ’er buck cowboy and horsehead. The matching bridle is equally impressive and includes a marked Al Tietjen silver overlaid Salinas bit. The tapaderos feature an intricately engraved 8” silver plate with a cutout initial “S”. There is also a pair of matching stirrups with silver diamonds and half-diamond mountings. The ensemble includes a brown and beige, two-tone wool corona. Fine overall condition.
