Original unsigned pencil and ink sketches on an off-white 4.5 x 7.5 lined page from one of Sutcliffe’s art school sketchbooks. On one side he draws two images of a balding man, one in ink and the other in pencil, as well as what looks like a closed eye with eyelashes; the reverse has a standing human figure with its arm outstretched. In fine condition. Sutcliffe’s sketchbooks were submitted as an application for admission to the Royal College of Art, and were the property of the Sutcliffe estate, sold at Bonham’s in July 2003.
