King George III signs ''George R'' as King of England in large letters to a vellum slip, removed from an original document. King George III, the monarch who lost the American colonies, ruled from 1760 until 1810 when he was struck by dementia. Signed slip in the shape of a lowercase ''r'' measures 5.5'' x 5''. With original blindstamped seal intact beneath signature. Someone has written the year ''1798'' in pencil beneath blindstamp and very small chip along left edge, else very good.
