Burgess Meredith, who would go on to fame in later years as the Penguin on the Batman TV series, starred in this William Wellman picture as the war correspondent Ernie Pyle. Wellman, known as a man's man director brought all the grit of his war-time experience in telling this riveting tale. The poster sports artwork reminiscent of a Rockwell painting; images so familiar to the average joe during World War II. The one sheet has a 3" tear in the upper border, a few edge tears, cross fold separations with small chips, and a small border hole. <I>From the collection of Jim Ashton</B></I>.
