Includes copy of signed letter from consignor attesting to the collection history and its acquisition.

Jack Hawes (1877-1950)
John H. Hawes was a travelling salesman out of Alliance, Nebraska. Employed first by Freemont Saddlery, which became Harpham Brothers Saddlery and Harness, Jack’s sales territory was comprised of historic cowboy and Indian areas, where he collected artifacts primarily between the 1890s and 1930s.
